Great idea for movement without using actual keys, I dig it, plus it might work for mobile with touch (just an idea for future use of this mechanic :3 )
the only thing I might improve is the shooting rate and the hit indicator when you hit the enemy ship
plus, just an idea for the future if you move the mouse far from the ship, it can gain speed
can be a cool idea
overall incredible work like it
Good luck at the jam going to rate it now :)
btw curious to know if the work on the Godot engine is smoother than unity
if you have any insights to share :)
Thank you for the mobile ideia, I didn't thought about that. The 'gain speed' is a good idea too!
About the shooting rate, I tried to let it slow in the begging and faster with the upgrades, but the hit indicator I should had do some animation or something.
About the engine, I used Unity a lot of years ago and the only thing I remember is that I didn't liked. ^^' I'm using Godot for only three months, but I found it to be very intuitive.
The concept of this game is quite nice, however, I feel like you need to balance this game a bit in order to make more sense. Also, the concept needs to fit this game right, it needs to be implemented well. Other than that, the space bg seems to be too busy, and the randomness of spawning the debris is required to be more logical. As a game jam, I still think this game is a nice one to hang on. All the best and it would be great to check your future games ahead of time!
I will try to fix this as soon as possible! And I really appreciate your feedback, thank you very much! :)
That sounds great!
